Why do they call them 'homeless' when they're really only house-less?

Do you believe they’re really only without a house?  I think they lack both, when you think about it.

One can have a home whenever they are (even in a car).  A house is but a dwelling place.  We could call them the 'apartmentless', or the 'motelless'... or the 'cardboard box-less'?

Not everyone has a home, even people with houses. There was a time in my life when I had a roof over my head, but the things that were going on there definitely did not make it a home atmosphere.

My point exactly.  I know some so-called "homeless" who have a wonderful "home", yet they have no place to live (not even a car).  So technically they're not homeless, but house-less.
