    So we don't need an excuse for being then? I don't know D I read these famous quotations that folks adore and some of them make no sense. Like this one. If beauty is its own excuse for being what about everything else? See my problem? Sometimes I get stuck in muck that doesn't bother others. I wish I knew why. Thank you for your reply! :)

    I think you misunderstand.  What it means is that beauty is reason enough for a beautiful swamp flower - like the Rhodora -  to exist.  It doesn't have to have any other practical purpose for us than just being beautiful.
