Well I know nothing about the NRA but in general - when you start giving a single individual or group of individuals the power to act for you.  Which will increase the likelihood they will act for themselves.

The NRA had an ad agency called Ackerman McQueen to whom they paid $40 million in one year.  The NRA is now suing them. Oliver North was ousted as prez for financial improprieties I read.  Wayne La Pierre is back heading it but he isn't innocent or clean either in that regard. It's sad. I am not a gun person as you know. But I did read how the organization began and what the members wanted for it and they were all HONORABLE and LOGICAL and SENSIBLE. It was about promoting the SAFE use of guns. Training. Stuff like that. I just think it sucks that what started out as a good organization got corrupted..not through the fault of most of the members but through the fault of the terrible leaders they chose. Thank you for your reply og and Happy Wednesday to thee! :)

Ka-ching - $$$$$$.  It's all about money.  Money is power.  The more money, the more power.  The more power, the more money.  Greed and corruption quickly emerge.  And somewhere along the line a once "noble" idea is lost.
