Discussion»Questions»Food and Drink» Do you take your leftovers home when you eat at a restaurant? Out of 11 people I had dinner with tonight I was the only one who did.
If there is more than just a couple of bites left, I take it home. One of the places I have dinner has the best chicken quesadillas, but it's so big that I wind up taking half of it home. I paid for it, no reason not to take it with me.
No. I have many times but have never once eaten them. So now I don't bother. I did when the kids were growing up because they would eat them. We don't eat out very often but what I don't eat, they can have.
It depends on what it is and whether I am going straight home. I've heard that this is an American thing which is why other countries don't understand our portion size. Canada sometimes follows US customs and sometimes it doesn't, so I'm not sure if you are unusual for Canada or not.
I‘m probably unusual lol. I just find portions at restaurants are so huge. If I’m paying over 30 for a plate and not able to eat half of it, it’s mine, I’m taking it home.
We had appetizers though, and the meal came with a salad to start. By the time I got my meal was already full. I had to pretend to eat like a grownup though, cos I was with family.
Bread bowl, Jaimie. First you eat the chili, then you eat the bowl. There's nothing more satisfying than looking down after lunch and seeing nothing but a table.
