The sb prez is gifting farmers with a $15 BILLION bailout to offset the damage his China Trade wars is doing to them. Do you approve?

He is buying their vote of course. Since he is solely and directly responsible for the financial mess he caused them he knows he dam* well better make it right with them or they won't revote him in again.

Can you image a $15 BILLION bailout for every sector of the American public he will have to make good on that he has royally screwed financially? Where does that money come from? Why from social service programs. Isn't he sweet?

Yes, I do approve. It buys time for the tariffs to work.

    No, I do NOT approve!
Where, pray tell, is this money coming from?  Already paid Chinese tariffs?  I think not.  (It's no wonder most things trump touches end up losing money or go bankrupt.. he has no concept of money (millions here, billions there).  To him it just magically appears.

For the record, I have nothing against farmers.  However, weren't they his biggest supporters? (not counting Russia)  When you play around with snakes, you shouldn't be surprised when you get bit.  trump is one big snake!

trump's tariffs may or may not work in the long run, but in the meantime, we're the ones paying the price  for his gamble (both figuratively and literally).  Whatever the outcome, it won't affect him one bit.

From what I have gathered priorly the gubment PAYS FARMERS SUBSIDIES TO NOT GROW THINGS. VERY WEALTHY FARMERS MAKE A KILLING THIS WAY. I have nothing against honest honorable hardworking farmers with pride and integrity. The ones who get the sweet deals reserved for the obscenely wealthy ARE NOT MY CUPPA TEA. Thank you for your reply Shuhak and Happy Thursday to thee!  :)

Yes, the gov pays farmers to keep parts of their land idle - subsidies.  They do this to keep food prices higher, thus making it profitable for farmers to grow and sell.  It was intended as a way for farmers to make enough to live on, not get rich (it's expensive to run a farm (grow crops)).  That's not to say that there aren't a few "farmers" out there who are "working the system".  I'm sure some farmers claim low yielding or unproductives areas of their land as the part being "idle".
Google states  that the average farmers yearly income is around 75k (which is a more than double what I got paid for retailing their stuff).

If the gov. used that same money to buy up farmers extra crops (instead of letting the land sit idle), it could use that food to help feed the homeless and hungry in this country (a problem they seem to be exacerbating).
