Moldova is sandwiched between Romania and Ukraine in what was historically called Bessarabia. It is the poorest country in Europe. They are a former communist nation and speak a dialect of Romanian there. I've never been. I probably will never go. Most people will probably never know about it--they are certainly a forgotten country.
Wow. I never knew. I thought it was some rich country somewhere. It sounds rich. Or made-up.

I'm with you on this. I know it is as third world as a white nation can possibly get bit it sounds regal and distinguished. Plus it was on Dynasty, the Moldavian Massacre.
I thought it sounded run-down. I mean, it has MOLD in the name. Mold-ovah. Yeah. Sounds like a gas-station restroom. Ick.
They should go back to Bessarabia. Sounds more exotic. But then people would probably think it's in the MidEast (arabia) and full of terrorists. 'course, the US government might also think they have oil - and give them billions of dollars for development.
