    Wish I could help.
Hope you get it figured out.
    :)
Stuff like that happens to me, too, sometimes.

THis is making it almost impossible to type, my sound system has taken over so badly I cannot even turn my volume up and every letter I type has a blue box over it.  I can hardly see anything, I'm typing as I type.  THIS IS SO ANNOYING.

I am actually getting used to it and adapting.  We humans are amazing.  I am looking past this horrid blue square around each letter that I type and turning the  volume off.  It repeats out loud every letter I type, every word I write and every action I do.  It must be for the blind.  Maybe I can find out how to dismantle it if I can find out where special operations for handicapped may be on here.  I will find it.

Go to General; then to Settings; Scroll to Accessibility; then turn off speech This post was edited by Don Barzini at May 17, 2019 12:30 AM MDT

Okay.  Before I thank you profusely, I am going to try it out.  Not going to work.  I don't have any of those prompts. I am on Microsoft Edge and Windows 10 if that means anything. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at May 17, 2019 12:30 AM MDT

    1. I have no general.
first of all.  So this does not bode well.  This thing looks like more than just speech. I think it is for the handicapped.  I think it is for the blind.

My apologies. I am on an iMac, and that is how it works on here.
    Good luck.

Don't apologize at all.  I think it helped because it steered me in the right direction. I succeeded.  I had to turn off narrator.  I had to go on some weird journey to get there, but I got help from Windows.  THANK GOD. You don't want that narrator  thing on ever. It was so insane.

The similar function on Apple is  just as horrible.

Re-program it for self-hypnosis, then teach it to repeat this while you sleep: "Make sandwiches for Randy D, I must make sandwiches for Randy D, make sandwiches for Randy D, I must make sandwiches for Randy D, make sandwiches for Randy D, I must make sandwiches for Randy D, make sandwiches for Randy D, I must make sandwiches for Randy D." Everything will be fine after that.
