  • No, it does not. But since my birthday is Christmas Eve, it will always hold some significance.

    Nope.
Even at 10, it didn't hold any significance ... other than getting new clothes.

Not in terms of the excitement of opening my birthday presents, but after turning 40, each of the decade birthdays become more significant because it means I'm closer to my expiration date.

... but are we talking "sell by", or "best used by" date?

    Absolutely!!!
My reasons for Celebrating my birth are very different than they were at 5 or 10 years old but they are STILL reasons to share with friends and family and be grateful for!

I like being alive on this planet.  I like all the creatures great and small, my friends, and people as a general rule.  I love to garden and have a wonderful husband whom I like and love and lust for very much.
I have tons of reasons and can think of many more to be thankful and happy for being born at this time in space and on this planet.
    :) :)
