    Yes.  I have to. I have an old dishwasher and it's not in the best condition.

    Generally now---no.  But it took a while for me to change.  50+ years ago, dishwashers were less than ideal in their intended function. 

    I frequently both load and unload the dishwasher, so I'm fairly accurate in figuring out what adhered food that the dishwasher tends to give up on.

    They are impressively good at cleaning dishes though.
