Does anyone honestly like tofu?

It is a bland texture.  You can make it into anything.  So what is not to like?

You may have had some bad tofu.  You may have never had any.

I eat it a lot and it stops my sandwich cravings.  It's all about the brand and the ability to understand how to use it.

Question:   It is a bland texture. You can make it into anything. So what is not to like?

Answer:   I'll stick with Play-Doh---easier storage and cleanup.

    lol

I loved the smell of Play-Dough.

    Why are you attacking me?

I didn't say you had  to like it.

Let's see. While we are on the attack.  Play Doh tastes like salt.  It cannot be made to taste like anything BUT salt and perfume.

Would you rather eat salt and perfume or a plant that can be made into the texture of hamburger, baloney, turkey, etc. and taste any way you wish.

    Or salt and perfume. DUH.

Or you can choose to eat that meat of your choice.  Just kill a calf for veal, or butcher a chicken or sheep or anything you wish.

Go for it.  After all, Jesus ate fish and all.

Jesus might have eaten fish, but there is no record of His eating tofu.

I wasn't attacking you, I just was just strongly exemplifying my aversion to tofu.

Tofu is basically an imposter---as you say, it is a plant that can be made into the texture of hamburger, baloney, turkey, etc. and taste any way you wish.

The "lol" was intended to clue you in to my my not being serious in tone.

Here’s that point I just made about sarcasm on an earlier reply to you.

Believe me, I've had tofu. That's why I posted the question.

Absolutely. Very much depends on how it's prepared, however. Some supermarkets here sell it in the form of schnitzels or nuggets, or some "Greek carrés" with molten cheese and tomatoes, and it's really quite good.

  • Oh yeah,  estrogen rich and no flavor with the texture of dried caulk.

Seriously though.  Its hilarious to me health food nuts who go on and on about processed foods but eat tofu.....Which is a heavily processed  "food".

To me it’s a lot like yogurt, basically tasteless (or worse) but can be made palatable with additional flavoring. That said, I can’t think of a single reason I’d plate up a batch of tofu.

Tofu - soybean CURD.  Now what does that rhyme with boys and girls?  lol Not unless you make it taste like something else.  By itself - yuck!

Of course.  But you want to get good quality and use it judiciously in combination with other things.  And it is not something that is good for you if you eat it too often. But perhaps once a week OK.
