Poorer countries are in debt to wealthier ones.
Wealthy countries are in debt to each other and international banks.
Governments are in debt to banks. We are all in debt to the Earth and most of us don't know it.
Many of the debts are based on trust in future profits. They are gambles.
Debt is the prerequisite to capitalism and free market though.
