And war is NOT a violent crime of course.  How about decimating innocents along the way?  And as far as what you claim to be something "unusual" it is NOT.

Do I have to seriously research this for you?  Give me a break.   There are SO many too numerous to count.

Unless you negate everythi9ng that is not to your liking.

Let's see.  Hows about hostage situations?  Don't you think a few hostages were innocent victims.

How about Kent State where four college students were gunned down for no reason who were unarmed?  Not good enough?

I see. It has to be from an errant bullet from a cop to an innocent then?  NEVER EVER HAPPENED EVER?   This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at June 7, 2019 12:18 PM MDT

I did not ask you to research anything.

But No, war is not considered a violent crime when looking for stats on violent crimes in any country.

How about my other two?  How about THIS?   If anything, this all proves that GUNS are not the answer.  To ANYTHING including WAR.

Or stray innocent hostages, or kids in a school shooting, or someone who thinks he is defending himself by playing cop and shooting anyone with a hoodie walking home at night.

    OR THIS:

SO of COURSE you don't want me to research.  Because you KNOW you are wrong and you know I have at LEAST 50 more of these "EXAMPLES" you know nothing about.   Do you have a tv or read a paper ever?

Those are accidental police shootings...I asked about self-defense shooting of an innocent bystander.

I HAVE EVEN MORE OF THOSE.  GET OUT OF DODGE WITH THIS NONSENSE.  YES I HAVE THOSE.  I have a life. Look it up yourself.  Stop wearing me out with your nonsense.  It is like arguing that the sun is hot.  You keep arguing and deflecting.  What else is new?

Let's see now.  We have to have a cop who tried to defend himself and shot someone else?  OH GOD GIVE ME A BREAK.  I got those.  I'm done.

Here's one.  Let's see. The cops thought they were in danger, they shot and killed the  innocent man instead of the crooks.  Is that good enough?

YOU JUST SAID THE TOPIC IS VOILENT CRIME.  The parties involved were not police for starters and yet the innocent got killed.  TRYING TO DEFEND THEMSELVES.  WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS IS NOT THE TOPIC.

Those are accidental police shootings...I asked about self-defense shooting of an innocent bystander.   (By a civilian... not law enforcement)
    ...........

My bad....I just seen the Headline Police: 15 year old.... and thought that was a police shooting.

Thank you. As I said I am sure it happens. But had not heard of it personally.  Now I have thank you.

But the point was about comparing Violent crime UK vs USA and even with all our guns the UK has much more violent crime than the USA.  Perhaps it is because of our guns.  Or perhaps the UK are just more violent???  I do not know.

OK.  The UK does not have more violent crime than America.  First off.

Next, the UK is a UNITED KINGDOM so what part is more violent?  Ireland?  They have lots of guns and bombs and more guns and they are more violent.  Because of the GUNS.

And that IS NOT what you are I were arguing.  YOU SAID YOU NEVER SAW ANYONE GET SHOT IN A LINE OF DEFENSE SHOOTING THAT WAS AN INNOCENT BYSTANDER. NOT ABOUT THE USA VERSUS THE UK.

This is not even remotely what we were discussing and you know it.

If this is your idea of winning an argument, you win because I cannot follow your lines of thinking.  This is ridiculous.  That is NOT what we said to each other. EVER.  I came in and you answered. I answered THAT.  That is what we are talking about remember?  YOU SAID NO ONE INNOCENT GOT INJURED FROM A STRAY BULLET IN A VIOLENT CRIME.  Then it was NOT a cop thing.  THEN it was not a cop shooting the wrong guy.

Now it is about whatever you say it is about. I was not interjecting about anything MORE than that sentence of yours, not all these other topics you brought up to deflect.

Just a clarification ... machine guns are not illegal, but you have to pass a stricter federal background check and pay an extra tax to purchase any "Type III" devices (full-auto machine guns, suppressors, rocket launchers, etc).

There are a couple big gatherings every year ... for people wanting to fire off their Type III devices.

I think we have discussed this. Yes it is a tax and an much more extensive background check. And then the person needs at least $20,000 to even think about a purchase....and they are not getting cheaper.
So for all intensive purposes they are illegal for the average person. This post was edited by my2cents at June 7, 2019 12:57 PM MDT

Yep and even in those states, it is the large cities that have the crime problems. And they have even tougher gun laws. Basically making their law abiding citizens sitting ducks  for the criminals there.

Gotta agree. Sitting ducks that the powers that be don't seem to care about. And if they do care they don't have the courage to do anything about it for fear of reprisal from their constituents that don't care.

I think they just need bigger weaponry to defend themselves. That's the ticket.  Carry a grenade in your purse and trade your Chevrolet for a Tank and no one will get ya until they all try more sophisticated methods of destruction instead of guns like chemical  gasses loaded with disease, instead of bullets.  WE SHALL OVERCOME. You don't seem to realize that not everyone here owns guns nor would some of us choose to own them.  So you may say well we are not safe but we feel safe enough in our routines that we are willing to take the chance with them. But people want to protect themselves and I for one can understand that.
