I find it amazing that just one country could take on the whole world on its own and succeed almost for five years to....
There can be no doubt that they were great engineers....

No one surgested they did....in not trying to big them up,but in any war ,you can't deny they were good in what they did...it also took a global force to defeat them...

Really, not so surprising when you consider the rest of Europe was still using weapons and tactics from WW1 ... which were only slightly more modern than the weapons/tactics from the Civil War era.

Even at the end of the war, German technology was ahead of the Allies.
But technology alone doesn't win wars ... they didn't have the resources or manpower to take on the combined military of their enemies.

Agree, but one one must never deny the fact that to who invented things for any political reasons.......if you are the inventor for good or evil ,it's always the one that invented it that should get the credit...stealing anyone's inventions is abhorrent...good or bad it is how it is...

I know Merkle was at the D-day ceremonies.  As I understand it they claim it as a day of liberation of Germany from the Nazi's. I do not know if they do anything in Germany though.

No it is not celebrated or really treated as a special day.  There was some mention of it because Trump and other leaders were getting together in some of the News Rags and on DRF (National TV & Radio Stations),
