Hello Rosie:
Google a kugel..
excon
The old family recipe here is "When the directions say to add one can of water, don't add the water."
not hungering for any dish
but for a GUAVA
oooh yum yum
A rather portly man named Amin served me a tasty dish called Baba Ganoush while I was visiting him in New York. To this day, I have not experienced the delicousness that I experienced that warm summer evening. I still taste the egg plant bathing my taste buds with the warm prominence of a foreign cuisine. mmmmm
Never had one sweetie. I will. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna luv 'em! I never met a Jewish dish I didn't love!. Thank you for your reply excon! :) Google a Kugle! Y

ou know how I LOVE RHYMES! Excellent reply! :) ((hugs))
I don't think I have ever had one Baba.. I've had kumquats, papaya, mango but somehow I missed guava. What are they like? Thank you for your reply! :)

Typical middle-eastern fare m'dear. As an Armenian American I have had plenty! My grandmother made the best. But she made BAKLAVA from scratch! I used to watch her pull the dough every so gently so it became translucent and so thin but never broke! There is no way in he** I could ever be as good a cook as my mom and grandmother but in the world of take out in which we live today I do pretty well! Thank you for your reply GJ! You would have LOVED my gr
andmother's food! Maybe in the next lifetime if we connect sooner? :)
I'm making burritos for dinner tonight. I mix chicken flavored rice from a box with refried beans from a can then cover them with "Mexican blend" shredded cheese and Louisiana hot sauce.
Stuffed peppers. I think it is Spanish or Mexican. It's been 2 years.
Oh! Lucky you StuB! Lucky you! Next time have some extra for me wouldja?

Our small town of Hemet doesn't have any kind of deli at all , let alone a bone fide honest-to-goodness Jewish deli. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday to thee!:)
I have made stuffed peppers before. My mom used to make them all the time. An Armenian dish we call "dolma". Actually that is stuffed anything. She would do grape leaves or peppers..sometimes tomatoes. It was all delicious! I think she used ground lamb and rice and whatever seasonings. She'd put the stuffed veggies in a pot and then poured tomato sauce over them and usually simmered them gently on top of the stove until they were done. I remember she would put a dinner plate on top of them to hold them down and then the top of the pot.

Boy does that ever bring back fond memories! Maybe I'll make some soon! Thank you for your reply bh and Happy Sunday! :)
No meat in your burritos m'dear? I love bean and cheese or beans, cheese and rice or ground beef or chicken. My favorite Mexican food though is tamales. I could live on them! I make tacos a lot and rarely enchiladas. I have made taquitos. My son and his friends used to love them!

I have never tried to make tamales. They seem very labor-intensive and daunting! Thank you for your reply CSV and Happy Sunday to thee! :)
i come from a jewish family and we used to eat those when i was growing up
