OMG!  You hit the nail right on the head!
    Absolutely!
Most people are just stuck.  They fear change so much they would rather stay in unhealthy patterns.
People are habituary and need direction.
What they forget is they are their own leader and CAN change.
It might be a struggle but maybe it isn't.  Maybe the answer has been right in front of them the whole time.
If you make a simple step in knowing you are doing something to benefit your life as opposed to destroying it, the universe will help!
It's true.  You are right.  You don't always have to fight.  You CAN do it and things will fall into place. :) :) This post was edited by Merlin at June 26, 2019 12:42 AM MDT

Yes - I think that's often the case for many of us.

What we are familiar with, even if unpleasant, may seem easier to bear than enduring the fear of the new and unfamiliar.

Or it could be due to a lack of confidence in the ability to learn and succeed.

Happily, the brain is "plastic," meaning that we can all adapt and change.

The hardest part of learning new skills is always at the beginning. There is a thing called "cognitive dissonance" - a special kind of discomfort we feel when encountering a very unfamiliar thing, like a new way of thinking. We start by just hearing or reading it for the first time. There's a sense of shock or surprise and wonder. Then we come back to it, investigate it. How does it apply in various situations? Gradually we get used to it, begin to see whether it suits our needs or not, and if it does, begin to try it on, experiment with it. If it works, we practise more, until eventually, we develop competence and skill. One day, we discover the new thing has become part of how we behave and who we are, and it feels good.
