Why don't the astronauts take dogs up in space?

Pets could probably be beneficial for the trip to Mars. Experiments should be started with them.

    Some of the first cosmonauts were dogs, quite literally.

    Because they don't fit in the microwave and are always clogging up the vacuum toilet. (Chihuahuas, mini-pins and mini-poos are exceptions. :-))
