Be like the Dude and abide, man.

Buffalo cauliflower is delicious, Gris. Try it as a side dish with your cow patty. :)

  • Cauliflower looks like a brain and taste like Satan's after birth.  Smells even worse.

I love it. Does kind of look like a brain, doesn't it? Maybe eating it is good for your brain.

Satan's afterbirth... there's something I've never heard anyone say before ever. I kinda like it. I may use it myself.

Seems like it is well televised. Numerous programs about how making cruelty-free food choices greatly improves human health and lengthens lives.

  • Yes, I'm aware of the health benefits, if food choices are made wisely. My diet is about 75-80% plant-based but I'm not fully vegan or even vegetarian. There are a number of reasons I choose this type of diet and animal cruelty is definitely one of the main considerations.

Over the weekend I tried a new vegan fast food restaurant that had opened up in the area. The food was pretty good but far from being healthy, lol. I'll definitely go there again but I can see how easy it is for people to be deceived that they are eating healthy just because they are adhering to a plant-based diet.

People should eat what they choose in accordance to their beliefs and wishes for their own health (in my opinion). I've gotten more grief from people who disapprove of my choice to not consume animal flesh than I'd ever dream of giving anyone who does choose to eat it. The most comical argument is that being vegetarian is 'against God and the bible'. HA!

If anyone tries to argue with you that plant-based does insure healthy, just remind them that OREO cookies are vegan.

  • Yeah, I get a lot of grief as well even though I NEVER try to push my diet on others. If people happen to ask me about plant-based diets, I'll gladly give them recommendations but I would never try to give unsolicited advice on diet and nutrition.

I've heard the whole bible argument but fortunately I'm an atheist so it all sounds like noise to me anyway, lol. Again, I'm not 100% vegan, but I can often go days, sometimes weeks without eating any animal products.

Stop trying to take away their hamburgers!!  This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at July 2, 2019 10:37 PM MDT

My theory is that people who give me grief about being vegetarian only do so because their consciences are giving them grief about eating animals, at least on some level. I only know one vegan who is truly zealous and tries to guilt others into changing their dietary habits. For the most part, I think we're live and let live types. No pun intended, lol.

They can have their damned hamberders. :P

  • I'd like to give people the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe it's their conscience speaking. But then there's another theory I have on this ... some people are just d!cks, lol.

    Yes.
It's started already - environmentalists, animal activists, medical and agrarian scientists, nutritionists, dieticians, gourmet chefs, and cookery courses - all on TV in competitions, reality shows, documentaries, and food travelogues.
And more and more restaurants open with new forms of healthy and yummy vegetarian food.

But unlike most revolutions, it is slow and non-violent.

Since the media depend on reporting change - every detail of the drifts and shifts will be televised.
