I mean it's not like it's Christmas or the 4th of July or something.
Because we get one holiday every month, and this is the one for this month.
I think, historically, when it first started, it was the only day off in a year that workers got (back before unions.) All the workers would gather together with their families for a picnic lunch. Didn't bother to double check, so I could be wrong.
