Why do we separate ourselves from other animal species when we are animals ourselves?

Each species has its own rung of the ladder.  The human is at the top.  When the lower rungs need help the human climbs down to help.  We are charged with protecting all of God's creations; it is stated many times in the Bible. 

I don't know either I'm with you definition of animal is a living bio organism that eats breaths and breeds and we are an animal were just a different species of animal. But the main reason i think it for decade religion rulued un questioned or argued and brain washed most off the world

Because we are the dumb species.

Because we are not animals.  We are humans.  We were created in the image of God.  The animals were only created.
