Discussion»Questions»Politics» To those who are so sure this will happen, is Trump going to be impeached before or after the 2020 election? We're still waiting.
It seems the Democrats in Congress are completely lacking in balls. There are more than adequate grounds, particularly given that "Go back where you came from" gets you fired in ANY other line of work, without exception.
No one made any mention of the fact that he forgot the name of the guy he was charging. And I am on HIS side.

I think the Dems will continue to raise at least the specter of impeachment through next year, to feed their base and keep Trump agitated and spewing bile; but I don’t see impeachment happening, given the Repub controlled Senate would blow it off.
My bet is the Dems would rather have the voters close Trump out, than spend their own political capital.
Possibly, although school massacres have been happening since at least the 1990s, long before Trump took office. They've happened during the the Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations and cannot be blamed on any particular president.
And aren't you the person who just said, "I will never again try to predict anything in politics?"
The issue there, Stu, is how many Congressional seats change hands, and who gains them. The dynamic changes. I recall at this point 4 years ago, few had Trump actually getting elected, and I still say it’s too early to predict his re-election. Given the uncertainty prevalent during his tenure, there are too many variables in play. What if GOP stalwarts just tire of it all? What if the economy sinks? What if young voters and people of color show up in force this time? What if Trump says/tweets something to break that final straw (assuming he hasn't already)?

What if this and what if that? What if he he gets reelected and what if he doesn't? All of our "what ifs" are rank speculation that prove nothing and are based, perhaps, on little more than wishful thinking.
Exactly. You yourself insinuated “what if“ Trump gets re-elected. Conjecture breeds more conjecture. Seems to me that is the nature of your question here.
If they don't impeach him, they are no party any more. The GOP is gone. The Dems are dangerously teetering. This is not partisan. This is illegal. They need to act.
I don’t agree with that. The Parties, feckless and dysfunctional though they are, will lumber on, regardless. What we once knew of the old Party is dead.
I agree there is cause for investigation. Many causes, in fact. But impeachment is a long, tedious, politically risky proposition that, at present, would only sputter to a quick death at the steps of the Republican Senate. There isn’t enough public demand for it, a more compelling case needs to be made.

I can't guess. I was so shocked that he got elected that I will never again try to predict anything in politics.
Possibilities as I see it from the other side of the globe... 1. The legal case for impeachment is being assembled now and the vote among the Dems on whether to impeach before the next election is teetering, the gap between yay's and nay's narrowing. If they decide to go ahead it will cost big bucks. Wouldn't be worth it if they think he stands a good chance of losing the election anyway. But they still might - because if they could succeed it would be a blow to the republican's chances at the next election. 2. They decide to wait on the expectation that he will lose the election and then charge him with obstruction of justice when he's no longer president.
President Trump will win reelection. If the Dems try impeachment it will guarantee the Trump win. Pelsoi knows this that is why she will not bring it up and tries to get the others to stop talking about it. (The Squad will never listen)
The only chance the Dems have is for the economy to bottom out and there is no sign of that.
Obama created more jobs in the last 2 years of his Presidency than Trump did in the first 2 years of his. Fact. And that was after inheriting a clusterf**k from Dubya, the worst Depression since the Great one. Turning an economy the size of America's around takes time, Trump coasted in with a rosy looking economy - but it's slowing, in no small part due to his pointless d**k measuring contest with Li Jinping.
Trump was elected in 2016 due to voter apathy and the fact that the DNC nominated a deeply unlikable candidate. Dem voters stayed away in droves. They won't make that mistake again.

Yes it took President Trump another 6 months to hit the 5M jobs created mark. But the jobs created under Trump are better jobs. Adding 20,000 manufacturing jobs a month consistantly...has not happened since 1997. Wages are rising. Unemployment is at record lows for many demographics. GDP much higher than Obama's new normal of 2%.
Voter turnout was higher in 2016 than in 2012. And battleground states turnout is hirer than most states with one hitting nearly 75%. So no turnout was not poor Hillary's problem.
About 139 million Americans, or 60.2 percent of the voting-eligible population, cast a ballot in November's elections, according to data compiled by the U.S. Elections Project. That compares with 58.6 percent of eligible voters who turned out in 2012, but it's below the 62.2 percent who turned out to help elect Obama for the first time in 2008.
What Obama did or did not do is completely irrelevant now. He is no longer running. The current president always gets blame or credit for the state of the economy.
Your comments are valid and they scare me to death. I am praying that this HORROR story is so phenomenal that the TRUTH will out. Trump has NOTHING to do with the economy. NO THING.
We will be MUCH better off without this blight. And we will be FAR better off economically. We were fine without him in the first place. We climbed up a bit after Bush and now it will take 100 Obamas to undo what this PIG has created. Him and his corrupt judges. The country is NOT thrilled with the economy no matter how you spin it. The economy is for the RICH. PERIOD.
No one is cashing in. Only Moscow Mitch and the bums in the Oval.
Come in, Sharonna. Aren't you old enough to know that the president always gets blame or credit for the state of the economy? It's always been that way. You not liking Trump is entirely another matter.
