Carson didn't ask permission to use that particular piece of property. True story.

Do you really think he would have been given permission to use it for the defense of the chump against being a racist SOB? Thank you for your reply Zack and Happy Friday! :)

I'm thinking the owners of the property already knew what Carson was trying to do. They played it very well in saying that Carson had no permission to use the property instead of saying that it was because of his affiliation with Chump. Hi there, Zack, that is BRILLIANT if they did.  I mean look what he DID to them?

But, I love the idea that they had no idea who he was.  I love my fake news better.

LOL.  I KNOW you are right.  But, in the real world MOST people would not know Ben Carson from Benjamin Bratt.

Because he is so FREAKING STUPID he never thought to ASK permission.

Those people who stopped him, didn't even know who the heck he was.  WHAT A FREAKING LOSER.

Well, all things the way they are?  LOL  You are SO RIGHT.  NO ONE.

But, I watched a vid by The Young Turks talking about this and they had a ball figuring out what Ben Carson thought he was even DOING.

The best part, Rosie?  Did you SEE him whimpering about the INJUSTICE of it all?  People would NOT let him set up in a CHURCH OF GOD.

That was his argument.  THIS PIG WHO WORKS FOR A MAN WHO CALLS CITIES INFESTATIONS.  This pig who keeps people homeless because of his negligent money laundering.  This pig who ignores the fact that his GODLESS boss is killing kids in cages.  That guy.

SO?  YOU ARE SO RIGHT. No one would have. And that is probably why he did not ask.  Stupidity was definitely in the mix, but I think he set this up as well.  He can cry FOUL and VICTIM now. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at August 2, 2019 1:06 PM MDT

After they got asked to leave the church lot they set up in an alley which I thought was appropriate. What I thought was very inappropriate was Carson started saying things  like - we got kicked off the church lot - can you imagine a church kicking us out. It is like he was saying the church was unholy to kick them out. I'm sure Trump will chime in on it and say the Church is anti Trump. Cheers and happy weekend!

I didn't see the story ... but currently, the law prohibits political campaign activity by charities and churches by defining a 501(c)(3) organization as one "which does not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office."

So if Ben Carson was campaigning for a candidate ... he would have been jeopardizing the church's tax-exempt status.

(Churches MAY engage in a limited amount of lobbying - including ballot measures - and advocate for or against issues that are in the political arena.)

And, of course, as a private entity, the church has the right to decide who may use their property and for what purpose.

The law is violated all the time.

    Personally I oppose the law.

Personally, I oppose tax exemption for churches.
And I read Jesus' saying "render unto Caesar" as supporting people - and churches - paying their taxes.

I don't understand how the government deciding what churches qualify for tax exempt status does NOT violate the First Amendment.

I agree gov should not be approving or disapproving of churches....but I do believe the should be tax exempt just as all nonprofits are tax exempt. And being a church should not silence the freedom of speech in the 1st amendment. It was passed to stop the church from oposing candidates in the 1960s. LBJ did not want the church fighting him. (He fought civil rights most of his career) This post was edited by my2cents at August 5, 2019 7:49 AM MDT
