Far more then you would think Rosie.... Penicillin was discovered by chance by someone who left a Petri dish with Cantaloupe cultures in it on a window cill in the sun while he was away for for a week or so....on return he found the fungus spores growing and from that I read came penicillin......It was two American though that took it from him and made it commercially.......It also found fame in the early years of its discovery because of the Korean War and saved countless Americans lives....
So many things are discovered by nobodies without the capital to patent their inventions and then large companies steal their inventions... There are many inventions for cars to run on water ,but they will never ever become made....the oil industry and governments will never let it happen ..... Plus who would want a car that creates no pollution...
I don't know if this story is apocryphal D but I heard somewhere that someone invented a tablet you could put in a tank of water and the car would run! Allegedly that was in the 1930's! I also heard that an oil company bought that idea for I don't know how much and it was never heard of again nor was he. True or faux? Legend or fantasy? I'm sure wherever greedy Corporate SOB's can cut the legs off anyone who will cost them money they will! As for no pollution? Clean air for all would kill us. Smokers would die. They go out of their way to pollute their lungs and pay big money to do so. They also pay big money when they get lung cancer. Provide them with clean air and they double up their smoking just so they wouldn't get the bends from withdrawal! Go figger! Thank you for your reply m'dear and Happy Saturday! :)
