The Walmart shooter posted on the Internet that he was inspired by the Mosque shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand.

According to Slartbartfast, they have "sensible gun laws" down under that prevent this sort of thing. However, shootings still happen. What's up with that? Ya think the wackos bent on pulling these off are going to respect some law and not just go get weapons on the black market?

He was inspired by TRUMP who inspired those other shootings.

Actually, IN HIS OWN WORDS, he wrote on a bulletin board call 8chan that he was inspired by the mosque shootings in New Zealand. www.realclearpolitics.com. Try reading and, you know, informing yourself instead of assuming you know everything and spewing based on your wishful thinking. No matter what progressives/liberals say, the data clearly shows having stricter gun laws don't prevent violent crime. If it did, then states with lax gun laws should have high violent crime rates compared to states with stricter gun laws but similar demographics. However, that’s not the case and the data, which is readily available to anyone that cares to research it, will tell you that. Blaming Trump for supposedly inspiring the shooters/shootings, may somehow placate some people and make them feel that they somehow helped solve the problem of gun violence, but in reality, it does absolutely nothing to address the real problem.

  • Of course,  every nation has gun laws.  Yet they are two entirely different countries.   Try harder

You seem to have more of a problem with my point. Maybe you should try harder. Or don't - I'm not losing any sleep over it.

New Zealand has a TRUMP fan.  That's what New Zealand had.  A Trump fan with a weapon.  That is more powerful than ANY law.

Exactly. That's why all the folks going on and on about gun laws are barking up the wrong tree. Any nut wanting to can and will always get his hands on guns. It's the same as with drug laws. There's always a black market. This post was edited by Stu Spelling Bee at August 5, 2019 11:35 AM MDT

It's not an argument, it's fact. Drug laws don't prevent drug trafficking and use either.

sure it's a fact but if you're trying to argue that gun control doesn't work because muh new Zealand had ONE gun massacre in like 30-40 years its pretty ineffective. like I said, the USA has had 250 and the year isnt even over yet !

Yeah, well how well do drug laws work? Countries like Australia and New Zealand have a fraction of the population of the US, and much less diverse. That's the primary reason that they have fewer shootings. Where there's demand, a black market ALWAYS develops to fill that demand regardless of the law. Didn't you take Econ 101 in high school or college? It's basic market economics. This post was edited by Stu Spelling Bee at August 4, 2019 4:34 PM MDT

this is about guns, not drugs. and if guns aren't the problem, toxic white supremacy sure is. which maybe we should just ban guns for anyone with a Confederate flag on the back of their Ford pick up?

also drug laws dont work because instead of targeting dealers/distributors, they lock up users instead,,,  so uh, thanks for  coming to my TED talk

Anyone repeating that there have been 250 mass shootings in the USA this year is simply repeating without questioning.  That number is highly inflated, unless you think a gang drive-by that kills two is a mass shooting.  That information is not hard to find.
