ELEMENT 99!!! I can't remember where I first heard this song -- but I LOVE it!!! and I love hearing it again right now -  I love the style of their singing style in this song!
    :)
:)Asker's Pick, without seeing any other answers. ha!
    :)

Oh, wow -- I just looked closer at the album cover image - - they're cute, too :)

I physically bumped into Eric Burden in Chicago when he was trying to get off stage to go to the bathroom.  He said "I have to go pee pee" and jumped off stage and bolted right past and almost into me.

That is my brush with fame, Welb.

OMG -- I give up - - I just NOW realized that HE is the vocalist on this song? Is he? Wow -  - I can't get over it. I really like this song!!

And after hearing "House of the Rising Sun" forever, and I saw this video - and thought, "Who's this adorable handsome young guy with such a deep voice?" I might have followed him to the bathroom, ha! I love your brush with fame story, wish I'd been there.
    :)

Did he sing on this Bottle of Wine song, too? Probably not - - he doesn't particularly look like any of the four in that image. But I don't know. A quick Google didn't mention a connection with him.

Element 99 and Sharonna continually open my eyes in ways they know. Thank you! (And thank you to you both for posting songs I really like.)

That's why I went and saw him. I was about 17.  That long ago.  1967 at the Kinetic Playground in Chicago.  I saw GREAT BANDS THERE.  You would not believe who went to that small venue.  I missed JANIS JOPLIN there.  MISSED HER.  I will never forgive myself.

Anyway, Eric had evolved into Eric Burden and the Animals by then and did House and all the songs on that album.  I don't remember much of the other music because I just became a fan of his listening to House of the Rising Sun and then bought the album, I think.

So, he was ELECTRIFYING and he was twice as wonderful signing from such an intimate stage that maybe housed about 500 people at the most?

That's how I managed to bump into him.

Mama Weer All Crazzy Now by Slade in case you never heard it - it goes a  little something like this -

I don't want to drink my whisky like you do
I don't need to spend my money but still do
    Don't stop now a c'mon
    another drop now c'mon
I want to lot now so c'mon
    That's right, that's right
I said Mama but we're all crazy now
I said Mama but we're all crazy now
I said Mama but we're all crazy now
A you told me fool fire water won't hurt me
A you tease me and all my ladies desert me
don't want to drink my whisky but still do
I had enough to fill up "H" Hill's left shoe

    Lyrics

    SWEET CHERRY WINE
    Tommy James & The Shondells

Come on everyone we gotta get together now
Oh yeah, love's the only thing that matters anyhow
And the beauty of life can only survive
    If we love one another
Oh yeah yesterday my friends were marching out to war
Oh yeah listen now we ain't a marching anymore
    No we ain't gonna fight
    Only God has the right
To decide who's to live and die
He gave us sweet cherry wine
    so very fine
Drink it right down, pass it all around
    So stimulating, so intoxicating
    Sweet cherry wine
    To open your mind
And everybody's gonna feel so fine
    Drinking sweet cherry wine
    Yes they will

    Watch the mountain turn
    To dust and glow away
Oh Lord, you know there's got to be a better way
And the old masquerade is a no soul parade
Marchin' through the ruins of time
To save us He gave us sweet cherry wine

Sweet cherry wine, so very fine
    Drink it right down
    Pass it all around
    So stimulating, so intoxicating
    Sweet cherry wine
    Drink it with your brother
Trust in one another, yeah, yeah
He gave us sweet cherry wine
    Sweet cherry wine
    Drink it right down
    Pass it all around
People don't you know the cup is running over
    Sweet cherry wine

    Songwriters: RITCHIE GRASSO, TOMMY JAMES

I like them, too. They once performed in concert literally only-blocks from where I live - - and I couldn't go.

Their entire album "Tubthumper" I like. It's the only thing from them I've listened to, I admit. Btu i enjoy it always, from first to last song.

Off to work for me- -

    am, a back door man
I am, a back door man
Well the, men don't know, but little girls understand

Stand out there, cop's wife cried
Don't take him down, rather be dead
    Six feets in the ground

When you come home you can eat, pork and beans
I eats mo' chicken, any man ever seen

I am, a back door man
I am, a back door man
