Let's think laterally. What are some totally way out impossible solutions to climate change?

      1.  Ignoring it.
      2.  Pretending it isn’t real.
      3.  Acknowledging that it’s real yet putting a political spin on it in order to point the blame at one’s opponents.
      4.  Claiming that it’s the will of a higher power and therefore cannot be intervened by mere mortals.
      5.  Seeking a profit-driven scheme that only lines the pockets of the perpetrators.

    I think I’m done here.

    I agree - they're crazy.
And they're impossible solutions because they won't work.

Are they lateral thinking? In terms of free association, yes - listing.

    Thanks, Randy.

Putting the cards on the table - looking at them for what they really are - always helps.

The climate changes....always has always will. That does not mean we should pollute or litter the earth.

Thank you. I will be saving it.
Have you heard the theory that the rise in CO2 is a result of the warming cycle rather than the cause of warming?

Well, the oceans are the largest producers of CO2 and as a liquid warms, gases are released easier. There are several factors involved in causing the warmup. I could cut and past some articles, but they would bore you. Let's just say we agree with each other.

    Fair enough.

Since our reality is a computer simulation ... we hack the software and manipulate the environmental settings.

Convert the current shipping fleets from diesel to sail powered vessels.
This has the added benefit of increasing employment. This post was edited by Walt O'Reagun at August 6, 2019 2:36 PM MDT

I could give you a smart-a** answer like 'kill all humans', but as you can see from the chart above we appear to be in a natural cycle. I can think of neither a possible solution nor an impossible one.

If a "solution" is impossible, then what's the point?

I don't know how to think laterally.

I know how to think out of the box which is the way I came up with the FACT that Climate Change (was called global warming way back when in the '60''s) was a real issue and we were all facing extinction.

That was 50 years ago.  We were on the BRINK back then.  We are past the brink now.

I believe in GOD.  It will take an ACT OF GOD to save us and do not kid yourself.  We are beyond any box.  GOD IS OUR ONLY HOPE.

Build climate controlled domes over entire regions. Beyond implausible.

Stop burning fossil fuels immediately. Not gonna happen.

Replant all the forests we’ve cleared over the last 500 years. Yea, right.
