I do a lot of crocheted baby blankets and I do neck scarves that get shipped out to the troops.

    Aaawe! I love that! :)
I hope I manage to keep enough dexterity in my fingers to do similar as I grow older - multicoloured patchwork crocheted blankets for the elderly.

I hope so, too.  I find the work very relaxing.  The reason I don't do patchwork is because I hate putting all the squares together.  Takes me as long to do that as to crochet the squares.  When I have a bunch of yarn leftovers, I give them to my nieces who take them to their children's pre-school and they use them for craft projects.

There's a way of joining the squares using the crochet hook.
Yeah, it takes a fair bit of time if leaving the joining till the end -
but not if doing it one at a time adding each new square as it's made. :)

I play the piano; Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and Grieg.  Through music these guys were able, somehow, to express the inexpressible.  When there are no words, there is music.  That's an old saying that I just made up.

Grieg?  I am learning something new here.  Never heard of this one.

Sure you have, remember this one?  Listen to the Peer Gynt Suite.  I personally like the 2nd Piano Concerto myself.

Never heard of Edvard Grieg? How about Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, Gustav Mahler, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, and Serge Koussavitsky? Where were you educated?

I LOVE listening to those composers on Radio Classical FM.
I don't play an instrument but I very much admire those who do.
What would life be without music?

Do you have much freedom in how you paint them?
Or do you have to stick to a specific style and colour palette?
Do you find it meditative and relaxing?

I have a friend who paints fake Aboriginal artifacts for the tourist trade. The images derive from ancient Arnhemland cave paintings, originally in ochres. But the modern versions are schmaltzy, New Agey interpretations rendered in bright acrylics. Caroline is given no choice in the subject matter, style or colours - has to paint exactly the same thing thousands of times.

I paint them however I want.  We have been in business for 20+ so I have learned what the cuatomer wants. I do have people bring in pictures of their pets and I will try to match as best I can. Most recent was a picture of white donkeys with brown spotches.

Art OF craft or art OR craft? I sing and used to play flute and piccolo in high school and college. I also take photos like this one.

    Flute and piccolo I adore.
My husband, Ari, plays the flute - practises a few hours most nights, jams with friends on the weekends.

I like that photo - even though I'm not sporty. Great depth of field. Captures the sense of audience, the game in play, and the net shielding from wayward balls - all that in the one shot - great!

Thanks. I took that Tuesday night during a Mets game at Citi Field from my seat in the front row.

Was that just chance, getting such a great seat?
Or did you have to pay extra to get that perfect point of view?

We bought Field Box Gold, Section 126, Row A, Seats 11 and 12 on Stub Hub for less than face value two days before the game. The Mets haven't been drawing well, although that's changing now that they've won 14 of their last 15 games and are in the pennant race.

Sounds like you got a good price and chose your position for the photo with care.
I'm sure that must be a big part of taking great shots. :)

Ya I do Christmas decorating and building mechanical Christmas displays. The art is getting everything to look really cool and the craft is using mostly recycled materials for the displays. Guess what I love most about it is all the shinny. colorful and jingly stuff. Not sure if this is considered artsy but I also teach my dogs to sing Christmas songs. Cheers and happy weekend! Yes - I'd definitely call that creative. :D
It sounds like heaps of fun - and a great thing for the environment considering all the waste our cultures throw out at that time.
