Discussion»Questions»Home and Garden» Not counting “silence”, what are some sounds that you would NOT MIND hearing coming from your next door neighbor’s house? ~
The question was about my "neighbor's house." There are many sounds from the house next door that would not be offensive. AND, would not be from my neighbors.
Had your answer included those things as what you would not mind hearing, you might have been correct. However, your answer only included what you did not want to hear, so you failed to answer the question as it was asked.
Five more demerits for presenting a flimsy argument before the court. Continue down this path, Counselor, and I shall cite you for contempt.
You didn't ask for things I wouldn't mind hearing. You asked what I didn't want to hear and I said my neighbors. You and Sharonna both fail your first trial advocacy class assignment! Only one more try and that will be your class grade. Every word matters.
I was in the heart of a big city recently. There was no air conditioning so the windows to the street had to be open. There were two popular restaurants on the street below us. When air conditioning is not available, restaurants serve to tables outside because the ovens make it too uncomfortable inside, plus people tend to eat later when it's cooler outside. The point of all this is that when I was trying to sleep, at 11:30 there were a lot of people socializing and eating outside my open windows. It was a foreign language which I have little knowledge of so I didn't understand what they were saying and all I heard was a confused chatter and a lot of laughter. It was very good white noise; as good as a fan or rushing river water. So, tell my neighbor he can have parties at night but he can only invite foreigners that laugh a lot. That noise I can tolerate.
(By the way, I'll be moving in next door to you. I'm having the contractors widen all the windows that face your property. I'm sure that you and I will be very happy together, NEIGHBOR LADY.)
B...but...but, Baby! If you do that, I won't know where you'll be living, and we'll lose contact with each other, and we'll never be together, and our love will fizzle out like a lantern in a rainstorm! Hey, wait . . .
I would LOVE the sounds of a busy citizenship gathering there to defeat Trump. The sounds of copy machines whirring, computers networking and people calling people to MARCH and be SEEN DOING IT.
I would love to hear their energized ideas of ways to get out the message of peaceful dissent geared to publicly denounce a monster.
