You’re not American. Leave this country immediately.

    (You know I’m just joking.)

No. Morning Person. No. No. No. It is still a fry.  Can we do SOMETHING besides potatoes then?   I can't even offer a suggestion. That's why I asked.  I don't know either.

You bring up a good point.  I hope you think of something, I agree with you.  There must be something better than potatoes.

YOU are stellar. I like the corn on the cob idea and the cucumber idea if they did something to make sure the cukes were not soggy, that is just wonderful.  I think they have a problem with perishables in those fast food places.  Otherwise they should have a fresh fruit platter on the menu. Some do, I think.  I'm babbling. Nice talking to ya.

This is so hurtful to me that I’m not sure I can go on, but I’ll muddle through somehow. You see, the potato is my favorite vegetable because of its versatility. Including raw, it can be prepared and eaten so many different ways, and I can’t think of any of them that I don’t like.  Sure, frying them isn’t the healthiest option, but there are also baked methods that taste just as good!  If you’re put out by potatoes in general, I doubt that I can allow you to be my honorary big sister any longer.  Listen, I can’t talk about this any more for the time being. I’ll need to process it properly, and until I can wrap my head around it, please give me some space. No, I am NOT crying, there’s something in my eye, that’s all. (Sniff, sob.)

How about corn on the cobb or a healthy cucumber?  (No calories on the cucumber)

I'll take the corn on the cob idea.  Morning THAT IS THE PERFECT SIDE.  Thank you for this.  See? I'm a reasonable, rational woman.  When you give me what I want.

The potato WAS my same thing as you.  I DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO ME.  All of a sudden the bread and the potato do not do it for me.  I TRIED.  Randy, this is bizarre.  I LOVED potatoes, ice cream, bread.  I.e., starch and dairy-based items.  Now they kind of either repulse me or I just don't want them. This can happen to you.  IT CAN. Because it is either old age (which will) or my gallbladder being removed.  I totally changed my food during that. And went back for awhile before it was removed and got so sick from the fat that I had to get the SURGERY. LOL

So, now I can eat normal amounts of fat, but it does not seem to do it for me. That's good. But the starch?  I still like pasta, but bread was wonderful (think sandwiches) and now? Meh.  Very frustrating when the tongue rules the mind.

  • I tried that a couple weeks ago and yea it was actually pretty good....far better than you'll find at any other fast food joint that has it.

I used to worship mac and cheese. I'll try it.  It is just that, like the 'tater, my taste buds have morphed into.... nothing does it for me now.

WHY ME GODDDD?  It is very hard to eat when food is not prompting you forwards. I have never EVER been like this.  I always (like a dog) can be ready for a food.  LOL I like food. And now I am never hungry.  It's my meds. I am sure of it.  I take CBD and Sativa. And they make me not want to eat.   So weird, since it is used on cancer patients TO make them eat.  The side effects are things I would have died for when I was dieting, way back when, but that is a digression.

So, the positives are that I can think, I am happy and I don't care all that much that I am not hungry most times, but when I NEED TO EAT SOMETHING, nothing seems all that wonderful.

It's kind of frustrating.  So I am funneling into health food. I figure if nothing is that wonderful, I might as well shove down the healthiest food I can muster.  Food is medicine after all.

Thanks for listening.  LOL Mac and Cheese was a great one.  I would put that in my fast-food chain.

It was a recent discovery for me, I too sometimes tire of FF being the only side alternative.
That said, I still enjoy them.

I was going to suggest a salad, but if you're a vegetarian, that's probably what you're already eating.  Have some onion rings.

Over fries?  YES.  I have had it up to here with that taste over and over and over and over.

Rings it is.  Where are they?  Jack-in-the-box?  NOOOOOOOO.  LOL

And?  I do wind up doing just that.  I order two fish fillets to fill the void.  I would really like something else than another fish fillet sandwich.  I cannot eat the meat, I am ashamed as hell that I still eat fish, but I do.  That aside, there is NOTHING on there I need or want, that menu, I mean.

NO THING.  I come home from work.  I live alone.  The fridge is empty and too tired to shop.  I need to be more organized. I KNOW. I KNOW.  Mc Donald's is not responsible for me, I am.  Oh man, I am a bundle of neurosis.

  • Restaurants should get creative in their search for providing the new staple side item. Steamed cabbage smothered in mayo and cheese perhaps?

THANK YOU.  YOU JUST made me RE-APPRECIATE French Fries.

OH man. LOL.  I'm getting the "Merlin tears running down my face laughing", thinking of that.  UGH. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at September 23, 2019 8:25 PM MDT

McD has a fruit and yogurt parfait or a side salad.

KFC and Long John Silvers have corn, green beans, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, cole slaw as sides.

Burger King and Sonic have onion rings and cheese sticks.

Wendy's has side salads, baked potato (it is not fries), chilli.

I think I eat out to much lol.
