Discussion»Questions»Finance» I wonder if panhandling (aka begging for money on the streets) can theoretically bring in more than minimum wage for a person?
One may as well be homeless if all you're being paid is minimum wage. There's no way in hell you can even get a "hole in the wall" earning that kind of money. Enough of my rambling. Did I answer your question?
Yes. If you average just one person an hour giving an average of at least $7 you certainly could bring home more than minimum wage no payroll taxes are being withheld either.
If you are faking it, which is insult and injury to those who ARE down in their feet, it depends on your ability to sell the part, act the person, and, of course, Location, Location, Location.
I have to run to work. I know it's Sunday but some things don't keep the same calendar we do and must attend to them on theirs. I Will come back and explain my factual answer. One part of my soon-to-be answer is sad. One part very maddening, and the last part, fact. See you soon and until then try to make great day for yourself and succeed in helping others around you. :) :) Love, Merlin
If I have money and I see someone asking for it, I give. I don't give if it is a hustler. I give if there is a person who obviously needs a meal.
It makes me feel good. So, I do it for a selfish reason. I do everything else for a selfish reason, I try and do things to help others so I can balance it out. At least I feel great about making someone else feel happy.
Thank you. Oh, by the way, here’s an interesting question for you:
I wonder if panhandling (aka begging for money on the streets) can theoretically bring in more than minimum wage for a person? *Sorry about the bold print; it’s what happens when I cut and paste from the question field, and try as I might, I couldn’t undo it.)
How can the answer be yes if you didn’t address the money part of it? You only stated what he did to carry out the experiment, not what the results or findings were. ~
