      For a second there when I read the first line, I thought someone had escaped from her special Corner. (Oh, it’s only you. Whew!)

      I’m cool with the decade expiring soon. I’ve seen many decades come and go.

    You seem to be rather time-bound. Who says it is the end of a decade and why would you buy into that - it is just an arbitrary measure of time.  You have as many years of life as you are willing to live.  When we live happily we don't think in terms of any time constraints.
