Me too Walt. That's how my dad passed. He took a nap on the sofa before he went to work each day. He'd work the night shift at a machine shop. My sister came home from school and saw daddy "napping" then went off to the library. My mom came home from work and found him. I was married so I was living in a different city. When my then-husband and I got there we saw daddy "sleeping" so peacefully. The coroner had not yet arrived. Daddy had a slight smile on his face and I thought how he died was his reward for being a fine human being. I'm not big on pain either. Anyway when that time comes I hope none of us suffers. Thank you for your reply and Happy Tuesday! :)

I don't do deep fry honey. It's been maybe 20 years since I deepfried anything. I remember it was COCONUT SHRIMP which was delicious if I do say so myself! But I left deepfry behind and now  I poach or braise. I also don't wear aprons and haven't for decades. It's funny but I used to have a lot of them and always put one on when I was baking or cooking. Why I stopped wearing them I do not know nor do I remember the lat time I wore one. Thank you for your reply D! :)

    I'm a member of EXIT.
When death becomes imminent, I will euthanize myself before things become too painful.
Things I wish to avoid: dementia, inability to care for myself and live independently.
I would not submit to living in an aged care home.

I'm unfamiliar with that. You will do it yourself rather than seek outside assistance so that no one will be held responsible? Do you remember a Dr. Kevorkian years ago who helped folks die? It seems to me the decision should be left entirely to the person who is suffering.  I never understood what the big deal was and why he was in such trouble for doing what I thought was a very kind thing. The thing I most fear is losing touch with reality. Senility or dementia or Alzheimer's. My mom was 95 when she passed and I think it was dementia that robbed her of whom she was toward the end. She lived with my sister and brother-in-law. BOTH SAINTS in my opinion. Thank you for reply. I shall Google EXIT. :)
