The taxpayers ought to get a cut of those profits. That applies to the Clinton's book deals as well.

  • Nope. Why shouldn't the president be allowed to be a Capitalist and business owner? It seems perfectly fine with me.

    Hello T:

Interestingly, there is NO law that says he can't.

He hasn't said that, I don't think.  I heard him say his kids were perfectly capable to run the companies while he was serving his country.

I have no problem with it. But I doubt any good business man would try to do both since the presidency is a full time job.

    Hello my:

Even if his kids were running it, don't you think President Trump would know if he/his kids own property in a certain country that would benefit. or not, from a decision the president might make??  That, my friend, is a classic conflict of interest..

How would one know if Trump made a decision to benefit his company/KIDS run company, or the citizens of the US???

When and where does Trump say he's going to run his business from the White House? Everything I've read and heard from his own mouth is that his children will run the businesses and he will put his holdings in a Blind Trust. How is this any different than the Clintons saying they will back off their foundation(s) but Chelsea will remain active and on the board? If there is a problem with one, then there is a problem with the other.

    Hello S:

The difference between Trumps business holdings and the Clinton Foundation, is that the Clintons don't take any money from the foundation...  It's simply apples and oranges.

But, Trump DOES make a living off his holdings.  And, you're right.  He didn't say that..  But, that's the way it's going to work out in any case..  That's because there's NO material difference between his kids running his business, and Trump himself..  A blind trust means BLIND.. If your holdings are stocks and bonds, they CAN be put into a blind trust, where they'll be bought and sold WITHOUT the owner knowing about it..  That simply cannot be done with Trumps holdings..  You can't HIDE a building in a blind trust..

Look..  I don't have an answer.. I don't think Trumps holdings should keep him from being president..  But, I DO worry about conflicts of interest, and having his kids run his company doesn't allay my concerns.

Well if he does, Hillary can have him arrested for trespassing.
