Well, first of all I request clean, freshly washed blankets and bedspread, then It doesn't matter which one as long as it is missing the bacteria left from all the prior guests.

When you make the request, do you have housekeeping change both of the beds?

The one closest to the door - in case of fire or some other reason I may have to evacuate quickly.

  • I always pick the one closest to the door.

Flip a coin.  Head in one, tail in the other. (it helps to move them closer together)

Why would anyone do that? I would just rent a single, then go pick up a bar skank.

It’s not always something that the hotel guest would “do”.  Sometimes, based on availability, a guest is assigned a room with two beds in it even if and when only one bed is needed. That’s happened with me at least half a dozen times over the years, as has happened on the trip I’m on right now.  (By the way, my wife frowns upon and prohibits me from picking up random women and bedding them in my hotel room. If not for her protestations . . . Grrrrrrrr.)

The one furthest from the door,
or if that's not possible, the one with the best view out the window. (Curtains opened after lights out.)

  • I would pick the one farthest from the Air Conditioner.

The one not by a wall.  I worry about spiders and walls.  I never have a bed near a wall other than at the head (which is several inches from the wall).
