Some rules are followed to the letter, some are OVER followed and some are totally ignored.
But that is because people don't know how to be cops on here. Just like in real life. Too many mods and too many rules spoil any site. Fun needs to be had not fear.

Today, I noticed that a question I had asked in a group discussion had been edited. .. I corrected the edited part. Later, I noticed that the question had been edited again. I corrected the question a second time back to the original. Later I learned that a moderator edited the question TWICE in order to help members understand the topic ! It now appears that there are waaaaay to many chiefs and too few Indians here !
Bear in mind, individual groups may have their own mods. We originally let members create their own groups and learned rather quickly that it wasn't a good idea, so we nixed it, but those who created groups have control over them and can moderate them. Some have very specific rules as to what kind of content is permitted. Any group that was created during the period where members could create their own groups is still set up this way- I grandfathered them in rather than removing their privileges. If you have an issue with one of these groups, I'm happy to mediate, but because this only affects a small number of groups, I let them do their thing for the most part. It's better if you can work it out with the person who runs the group. You can identify these groups by looking at the creator. If it says my name or answerMug Groups, it was created after I stopped letting members create groups. If it has a member's name, you should contact that member for issues regarding the group.

Actually this presidential campaign started out as a demonstration of how it is possible to mention members names without incurring censorship - it's all in the art of not using abusive or hateful language and not acting the troll.
There's plenty of license if one knows how to recognise the thresholds one must not cross for the sake of agreements and an emotionally healthy site.
