They want a wall. They want closed borders. They want immigration banning. They want to deport those here illegally. They expect the prez to provide them with jobs. So how are they any different from those who want government to help its citizens? How much is what they want from that kind of government going to cost versus the kind of government they say they decry/despise?

Seriously, I could no longer be a liberal after what I saw liberals do in the nasty nineties (and beyond), but I also knew I could never be a freedom-hating, police state loving conservative. I had only one place to go, politically: out!

Nimitz - I'm a libertarian though I'm authoritarian enough to maintain liberty. I won't allow liberty to be destroyed. Extreme libertarianism is a form of ideological pacifism. Pacifists just get conquered. It's as simple as that. Take U.S. border control. Central and South Americans are leftists. If you don't resist globalism and keep them out, you will be end up a very left leaning pan American Union.
This is a war. You have to choose sides at least in the short term. Conservatives have their faults but conservatism is a sustainable form of government. It's reformable to be less statist. The far left is intrinsically authoritarian, statist and unsustainable. The liberal left are just a bunch of fence sitters who will passively watch the debt clock count up to financial collapse, calm as Hindu cows. The only possibility of salvation comes from the anti establishment right, imperfect as it is. If you think society is just doomed, you may well be right. Though I prefer to fight on.

Sorry but you have it all wrong, When a government gives people all kinds of freebies instead of having them do something constructive and earn it people will expect every thing for free and their children will expect the same because the parents set the example.
The Democrats have done more harm to black people by pushing all the entitlement programs.
The above are done by the States and Funded by the Federal Government.

If you are referring to conservatives (and since most of your posts are against conservatives, I'll assume you are), we are NOT against LEGAL immigration. We don't want to ban immigration, but we want a thorough vetting of those who come in. We know our borders are porous, especially the Southern Border. That is why we want the 'wall.' Are you aware that there is a Homeland Security report that the White House is delaying release that says 50% of the illegals caught crossing that border are release, not the 29% they've been reporting. Are you aware that the Obama authorized $75 million for Mexico to help them secure their southern border, including continuation of their wall building?
I'll add that conservatives don't expect 'the prez to provide them jobs.' We do expect the President and the Congress to create an environment conducive of job growth.
If I recall, it was Obama, a progressive, liberal Democrat who ran to the 'free stuff.' Remember the "Obama phone" videos?

Medicaid and Medicare are funded by the State ???
