*Although this question refers to the US dollar, its equivalent in other currencies can also be substituted in your answer. Thank you.

Another dollar.   I don't know about the glad part.

Most of the crap that passes for good stuff in the dollar store in a pinch.

A bag of trail mix at the dollar store. No tax on food here. If they  started taxing food and prescription meds in Ohio, there would be rioting in the street. This post was edited by Element 99 at December 29, 2019 2:22 PM MST

This keeps happening to me; women throwing money at me to get me to do things. Starts out slowly, something innocent such as what you’re asking for here. It’s a slippery slope, though, and I think I know where it leads. (Cough, cough.)

Please don't take this wrong; however, I have observed most women are simply entertained by you.  I know I like your mind.  I can only imagine your body.  Did you ever think, perhaps, until you present your body, most women won't share theirs with you?
Don't stop thinking we won't flash money. Notice where this picture stops?  Ahhh-HA!  That's as far as it goes. ;) :)

A copy of the movie "The Irishman." Wow, what a long ho-hum movie.

Wait, are you saying that’s what you’d gladly pay a dollar for?  If you know it’s a ho-him movie, why would you pay for it at all?

Well, actually I take that comment back.  I can't stop thinking about the darn movie.
To me that is a good movie. It was just long and it would have been nice to see some Younger actors.

A bottle of water..............if I really needed water at that moment and couldn't get to the car.  I keep six bottles in the car at all times.

I do not like to pay more than $1 for a cup of coffee.  In a restaurant it's different because you get refills.  But if traveling and drive through a place to get coffee....I rarely will pay more than $1.....if they want more then that I opt for chocolate milk or OJ.   Most of the time I have a travel mug and prefer to fill my own mug at convenience stores. If you want a fresh coffee in London and even in hospitals or rest stops on our motorways where the big brand coffee shops have franchises ,you can pay up to £7 pound for a paper cup full....plus there is never any free refills ..
Same for water in places where there is no competition...
We are ripped off by anyone and everyone ,including local government ,things have changed so much in the last twenty five years....
One good thing about McDonalds here is that their coffee is £ 1 a cup and their food stays the same price no matter where you buy it....I refuse to eat their food ,but do on occassion buy their coffee...

I've spent time in England twice.  I never considered going to London.  Why do people live in places like that, I wonder.    I enjoyed my time there but hung out in the small villages and towns.

I was born and bred in London and hate it now....its like a communist police state like most all cities are I think... Our police force are all about making money from trival fines for made up or tiny driving errors .
We have a house in the county to and it's quiet and the people far more friendly ...
We can still park almost anywhere to and even car parks cost peanuts to pay and park in....
Where did you visit in England and what year was you here roughly ?

    I agree. :) :)
That's the way I like to travel abroad.  I'm not big on the commercial sides.  I like to learn about the people and the culture.
Please don't get me wrong.  Like most people, I do like to be pampered and spoiled by 5 star hotels and dining.  BUT, I would rather do that at home.
If I am going to experience other cultures, I would like to do it with the people.  Not the commercial side. This post was edited by Merlin at December 30, 2019 9:25 PM MST

Me too. Forget the touristy stuff...get on the bus or train and see where it leads you. That's what me and my GF did in Italy.
