Nah just too cheap to replace it.
I spent $400 on that program and I am getting my money's worth. I have installed it on at least 6 computers. This post was edited by my2cents at January 4, 2020 8:25 AM MST

Etch-a-sketch because I can write Boobs on a Etch-a-sketch and not have to worry that my Grandmother might see it (couple of shakes and it disappears). But if I write boobs on G -suite it could get sent to the Cloud were my Grandmother could see what I was up to. Or if I write Boobs on Office 365 there is a chance my Grandmother might see it because Office 365 runs on Windows 7 and Windows 8 which are fairley easy to hack. Cheers and happy first weekend of the New Year! I don't know about that an aM moderator never knitted me a sweater with a snowman on the front of it. Cheers and happy first weekend of the New Year! This post was edited by Nanoose at January 3, 2020 11:18 PM MST

    1.  I don't know what G Suite is.
    2.  Office 365 costs money.
    3.  Etch a sketch wins by default.

It needs to be an Etch-A-Sketch!

I probably needed Etch-A-Sketch at my last job because the operations manager chose the truck dispatching software just because he liked the name of it!  It was called Workflow so it must've been better, right?  After all, it was called Workflow and the thing that made it even better was that it provided back office solutions!! Yay!!!

It's the greatest thing in the world because if the driver makes one little mistake or does just one little thing out of order it ignores everything the driver does after that and the first day we had it every single driver completely screwed it up so I didn't know where or when any of the trucks made their pick-ups or deliveries and it was kind of my job to know that so umm yeah, give me an Etch-A-Sketch!

Sounds like a database that was released 20 years ago - the Millennium Year Application Software System (MYASS). This memo went out:

This is to announce the development of a new software system which will be Year 2000 compliant.

The program is known as "Millennium Year Application Software System (MYASS)".

Next Monday we will have a meeting at which I will show MYASS to everyone. We will hold demonstrations throughout the month so that all employees will get an opportunity to have a good look at MYASS.

We have not addressed networking aspects yet, so currently only one person at a time can use MYASS. This restriction will be removed as MYASS expands.

Some employees have begun using the program already. Just this morning I walked into a subordinate's office and was not surprised to find that he had his nose buried in MYASS.

Some of our less technical people may be somewhat afraid of MYASS. Last week my secretary said to me, "I'm a little nervous, I have never put anything in MYASS before." I helped her through the first time and afterwards she admitted that it was relatively painless and she actually looked forward to doing it again. She even said that she wanted to kiss MYASS.

There have been concerns regarding the virus that was found in MYASS upon initial installation, I am pleased to report that the virus has been eliminated and we were able to save MYASS. In the future, however, protection will be required before entering MYASS.

This database will encompass all information associated with the business. As MYASS grows larger we envision a time when it will be commonplace for a supervisor to hand work to an employee and say, "Here, stick this in MYASS."

It will be a great day when we need data quickly and our employees can respond, "Here it is, I just pulled it out of MYASS."

  • sounds like all you needed at last job was an etch a sketch and some walkie talkies. Trash the software.

Occasionally I will use Office, however I still use Word Perfect for the most part. Why?to wit:

    Easier to use
    Less overhead, system wise
Whole lot easier formatting Document ETC
Its' spreedsheet makes Exel look like a 25 pound weakling
MS Word file structure makes it too easy to lose documents and impossible to link multiple iterations
Easily integrate with Legal both in-house and External.  We dropped a Large NYC firm because of their insistence on MS only

MS office fot eh Cloud we as an organization dropped, everyone  complained except Finance.  VP of Finance and VP Info Systems had their Bonus for 2019 Docked for "Poor Decisions regarding cost control vs productivity......"
