Dumb don said "NATO is obsolete and we really don't need them" once upon a time. Guess what folks?.

The new and improved dumb don NOW sez he has asked NATO to become more involved in the middle east.

SAY WHAT?

The same NATO that he has been dumping on attacking insulting for years? Surely that cannot be. He surely is not that much of a crackpot wackadoodle lamebrain idiot. IZZY?

Rest assured he will a**backward on everything he ever said or did. Know why?

He has the memory of a gnat which is to say none at all. That's why he keeps contradicting himself. He doesn't remember what position he held or what he said ever. There is no core to him. No central beliefs he holds 24/7. Empty shell that is constantly needing to be filled repeatedly because it leaks big time. Everything about him is defective.

So much for counting on him to come through for you. Don't hold your breathe.

I agree. It is time they step up because 23 of the 28 nations involved aren't paying what they are supposed to be.

Exactly what should they pay and why?  Have you ever stopped to consider that question?

To be a NATO member they agree to spend at least 2% of their GDP on their military. They should honor their agreement.

They have not followed their agreement to be in NATO.  US should not have to defend the world.

Again (as always) your words not mine. This post was edited by my2cents at January 10, 2020 5:06 AM MST

The US spends (almost) as much on its military as the rest of the world combined NOT because the world demands the US do so (or even, in many cases, is asking them to do so).

Latvia raising its defense spending from 1.5% of GDP to 2% of GDP won't change that dynamic.

Moreover, if the main thing NATO has done lately is bomb Afghan wedding parties in the useless unwinnable US-led war there, why even have NATO?

They agreed to the rule. If they do not want to honor their agreement then they should not be a member.
