    You're thinking of Big Daddy.

I've no idea who BIG DADDY is unless you are referring to a literary BIG DADDY played by Burl Ives in a long-ago film. Shirley Povich is the father of Maury Povich. Johnny Cash snag about a boy named Sue. Those are the things I was referring to. Who are you referring to specifically? Thank you for your reply Malizz and Happy Wednesday! :)

Late lead singer of Australian glam-rock band Skyhooks. His real name is Graham, but he went by the professional name "Shirley" throughout his career.

Isn't Shirley British vis a vis a male name? I wonder what the backstory behind that is? Thank you for your reply R.

It's a surname. The Brits have long held a habit of giving a son the mother's maiden surname as one of his given names, it seems that one stuck.
