It seems that many 60+ are going high tech. Not me. Actually, folks rarely text or call me anyway on my cell, which is turned off 95% of the time. Those whom I choose to talk with know my land line number.
I agree. I am seldom on my cell - talking or texting. The exception would be with my son and daughter-in-law, who almost exclusively text. People do get mad at me because I don't have my phone with me most of the time. We still have a landline because we get a better deal with Comcast if we have it along with our cable TV. I'm not a big phone yapper either way though.
The reason I don't like the placestop like so much is the irascible k sound. It's exhausting and should be dropped for a conjunctive and. It's like a dangling participle like and useless to me. To me. To me. To me. To me only maybe but who needs the same thing said over and over again. It's stultifying. It's egregious. It's Its ignoble. It's short shrifting. It's non orthodox slang.
