    While I'm not that much of a movie buff, my impression is the situation you describe is the rule, not the exception.

    Several "Bond girls" come to mind (Lois Chiles, Daniela Bianchi, Grace Jones, etc.). I'm sure there are many other examples.

  • Kate Upton.  She is a very pretty woman and a successful model.  Personally, I found her acting hard to take seriously.
