What unusual ritual do you have to carry out in the morning to wake up?

You’ve stumped me on this one; I can’t think of anything out of the ordinary that I do to get up. I’m pretty prompt at jumping right up and getting straight to it.

Oh, I know you just don’t want to admit it. It’s okay, Randy. Some things are just a bit too dark, even for the internet.

I was just teasing you because you said you have no trouble waking up and have no morning rituals...so it just had to mean you had some horrible, arcane secret to wake up you just couldn’t admit online...I mean how could anyone *really* just get up so efficiently? Lies, lies I say!

Well, my answer wasn’t that I have no morning rituals whatsoever, it was that I don’t do anything out of the ordinary. I most certainly do have various morning routines that I go through depending on what has to be done that day.

As a retired person my mornings are nicer.  I'm a slow starter due to several things.  It's great to be able to stay in bed 30-45 minutes past the time I wake.

That does sound nice. I don’t believe I will ever retire, though.

I can’t imagine myself not working.

I didn't really expect to retire, as in stop working, either.  I started working for the company from which I retired right out of high school and was able to get full retirement benefits at the age of 50.  I retired with the plan of going right into a private practice and working another 15-20 years.  Life happened and I couldn't do it, had to put it off, couldn't do it, one family crisis after another.  Anyway, eventually I moved and just did not want it badly enough to do what would have been required to become licensed in the new state.  I've now moved yet again.  I don't really feel too disappointed because I did what I needed to do and was glad I was available to my family when they needed me.  So I work a little here and there but mostly just enjoy each day, see most every sunrise and sunset so I can't complain.

Hey, nothing wrong with that! Seems like you have earned the extra time! Life can be so hectic sometimes.

I don't have any unusual rituals to carry out in the morning.
