    I don't think so.

I wanted to laugh at that clever retort and then I realized it may have been that boring.  Inconsequential.  Or she was a toddler.

I was at the Daytona 500 about 20 years ago. Meh. Not my jam. Only so many times can a line of the same cars roar deafeningly by and hold my attention. We packed it up and went to the ocean.

But it was like a pilgrimage to Mecca for giddy legions of ball cap wearing rednecks. The Grateful Dead have nothing on the throngs of delirious groupies NASCAR draws. I leave them to it.

A lot of those ball caps are red.

NASCAR is different than the Long Beach Grand Prix.  No.  I have not attended one but bet on many and have watched them on TV.

    Nice!  Very Cool!!
    They are loud, hu?
That is one of the things I don't like about going to the races.  I get over it when I am there but when you aren't in the action, it does hurt the ears!

We weren't close enough to hear them.

Yes. Daytona 1969. It was good fun. And loud. I haven't been back, though.

No, but I used to work with a 'gas man/ transport driver'  for Newman/Haas Racing.

Why would I want to watch everyone speeding?  It is like even more boring than being on the expressway, because I am not going anywhere and I just paid a lot of money to watch everyone else drive?  WHY???  WHO THE FK CARES?
