Each post could have more than one category, say for instance, one main category and several sub categories especially for adult stories, where you could mark the first category as story in the adult group and then have the other categories for complete, incomplete, needs review etc, awaiting a general reading, new, popular etc. Over time, the categories could have a reputation based system so for categories like new, popular, needs review, needs a general reading, they could all be auto managed whereas specific categories such as needs completion, complete could be marked by the author as such once it's done. Too bad we can't merge topics that way because as it is, we forget what gets posted a day after its been up unless people keep the thread open via email or other notifications. Then if people find those conversations are getting too old but they show up on the main page the whole time, they lose interest in the groups because the topic in others minds has already been resolved. So a good way to mark posts would be through filters people would use every day to encourage new discussions but also keep active topics going if someone has something to share based on topics delivered as themes, or related questions for instance. Experiences count towards this as well, in my opinion. I'd be a lot more likely to rejoin in conversations if I knew for example, 20 more people replied to a post I replied to but then st...    less

    Having said that I don't follow the main forum and blog posts because it's too general a topic for me. I don't know how to follow blogs, I know how to follow profiles however. I get enough notifications as it is via email, so I try to follow topics of interest.
    If I could, I'd follow the photo and video sections but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. It's all based on how much time people have to spend on a site like this, or any other. Every different site has lerkers, some more frequently visit than others. Chat used to have a lot more of them but in recent months, it's kind of where nobody posts so I stopped visiting it as often. Even then less than about 12 people participate a week in both. I get emails when new people post discussions. That seems unique to this platform. I can't say I've seen that in others accept maybe google groups.

Same goes for people who are mentally challenged, but too many people abuse people like that because their brain is only partially aware of what is happening to them.
