There is a RARE day that happens when I do not get up and cry at least once at the THOUGHT that this monster is in office.

No human being alive has ever affected me like this.

I am demoralized and terrified and THE FACT THAT PEOPLE DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS EMOTION JUST FREEZES MY BLOOD.   WE ARE IN NAZI GERMANY AND NO ONE RECOGNIZES THE HITLER FIGURE AGAIN.....

I WAS STUPID ENOUGH BEFORE 2016 TO ACTUALLY BELIEVE WE WERE ALL AMERICAN UNDER THE SKIN AND THIS COULD NEVER EVER HAPPEN.

I AM DEMORALIZED.  I AM EMPTY AND I HAVE LITTLE HOPE.  BECAUSE OF WHAT AMERICANS HAVE DEVOLVED INTO.

I am feeling for you, Sharonna. Terrible place to have to work. Do you have any other options?

Could you describe his/her actions or words in factual detail with no adjectives or adverbs?

E.g., 10.46 am, Arizona Central Massage Clinic, office, interviews for staff. Overheard boss say to secretary, "You idiot! We don't employ kikes, niggers, slanteyes, gyps, wetbacks, redskins, ragheads, cripples or four-eyes here. Ring back. Tell them you made a mistake and the place is taken. In future, bloody well check the name and photo on the application. If they're not white tell them the place is taken, and don't be too polite about it."
    Or,
12.33, staff kitchen, saw boss put up a notice on the board. It announces new staff rules: we are not to express personal opinions at any time while at work, nor on Facebook or social media; from next Monday we are to wear ACMC white uniforms bought from Workwear in High St; failure to comply is a sackable offence.

Or if you'd like to debrief with me in a private message, you'd be very welcome.

I think Sharonna is referring to the Office of the President of the United States, and how Trump's election has revealed some of the ugly depressing truths about the American polity.

DID she even read the question?

I started out plainly.  What would that have to do with a job?

    LOL

I love my job.  Thank you dearest one, for the support.  I never cry every day about work.  I could NEVER work in those conditions.  I would NEVER survive.

I am talking about what I SAID IN THE FIRST SEVERAL WORDS.  MONSTER IN OFFICE.

I am talking about what SALTY is talking about. This post was edited by WM BARR . =ABSOLUTE TRASH at February 16, 2020 12:34 PM MST

I, on the other hand, have PLENTY of complaints about the incompetence and stupidity of the management where I work...

OH GOD YES>  I won't even GO there on my job.  But it is normal harrassing that the working class hero or heroine always endure.

I mean you would not believe.  Oh, yes you would.  You work in a job where the public is boss too.

This video is approximately equally relevant in dealing with our customers or our management...

Oh, how silly of me not to have realised. :/

I know you love being a masseur and would bet that you're brilliant at it.
Possible to love one's work but hate one's boss or co-workers - fairly common scenario. Glad it's not yours. :)

You know me. I dislike Trump, all his policies and his ways of accomplishing them. The positive changes in the economy have not been his work but things that would have happened no matter who was in power. They're the result of the natural cycles in international economies.

I think it's going too far to call Trump a Hitler. Even though the creep is highly racist, and has interred Latinos in concentration camps, he has fallen a long way short of enslaving them for hard work on starvation rations, gassing people in ovens by the millions, turning human skin into lampshades, bizarre medical experiments on living humans, murdering dissenters, and so on. And I don't believe Americans would ever allow a democratically elected leader to get away with such things.
There's a difference in the order of magnitude between the Nazi/KKK type
and dictators such as Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, Tamerlane, Ghengis Khan, Robespierre, Mao Zedong, Duvalier, Ceausescu and Pol Pot.

I think Trump would like to be a dictator if he could get away with it. One need only observe how he sacks anyone who refuses to obey. But look at how many people have resigned rather than cooperate, and how many positions have been left empty because no one will apply for the jobs. This is not the sign of a person who can ultimately prevail over others.

On the other hand, I get it that you need a safe, anonymous place to blow off steam - so it's great that AnswerMug is here.

I think what the Dems need now is help is spreading their specific policies and why and how they would work better for the welfare of Americans than what the Republicans have achieved.
In my view, there is always far too much focus on personalities and not enough on fresh thinking about policies, the outcomes desired and the how of attaining them.

I noticed Trump's backside could probably use a good rubdown. Are you up for a trip to the White House?

Sharonna, I understand the why you feel the way you do, but to allow Trump that much time and space in your head is ridiculous.  Hopefully, come November, he will be history, but if he isn't, we have no choice other than to hope the Democrats take the Senate.

Everything about that man is repulsive.. a woman would have to be paid a serious amount of money to endure kissing that!

I can certainly see why you feel that way... it's a very sad thing that has happened and I really don't know what to make of it either. I have seen nastiness and bigotry I stupidly assumed were no longer alive. I have reached the stage where I am not sure that some of them are actually human any more :(
