Have you ever been reluctant to share here on AnswerMug that a loved one or close friend was in poor health or had recently passed away?

If so, why the unwillingness?

OK. My mother died in July of 2018.  She was 87.

My mom was 88.  It hurt me like hell and I did share a lot about it on here; it helped.

I don't think so. I want people on here to know things like that.  It helps me and it helps other people feel it is okay for them to share.

I care.   And I want people to know that their caring matters.

I might as I don't like to discuss my family's medical issues. It is a privacy issue.

  • I typically try to come to a place like this to distract myself from such reality.

Those are not the kind of things I generally discuss with people I don't know.  I'm a fairly private person and, since none of you would know anyone I would speak about, so you can't really understand what that person may have meant to me.  I don't need an online group of "strangers" to comfort me - I have (real life) friends and family for that.

Never will ... it's not something I do.
If you know them, you're already aware.
And if you don't, why would you care?

  • Only reluctant concerning any of the details.  Sure I've said this person died or that person's sick, but never will I give out the hows and whys, not with those lurking who burned me maliciously in the past over personal matters.

I have and I do to a certain extent.  Mostly I will share things like that if I have been absent for a while.  I don't want peeps to think I've gone away for good (you could only be so lucky) or that I am perturbed with anyone or at answerMug.  I am NOT.
When I do vanish for a period or time that normally is the reason.

Sometimes friends here can guess something is wrong.  The tone in my writing must change. They are pretty observant when they want to be. ;) :).

I will go into detail if someone asks.  Once bookworm was extremely gracious in extending her support and offered to share with me her knowledge about Parkinson's disease if I would like.

I thought that was really cool.
