Does the Democratic establishment want to deny Sanders the nomination at any cost, a la Gene McCarthy vs. Hubert Humphrey in 1968?

It has been said that it is rapidly snapping into line behind Biden like sheep, falling all over themselves to endorse him now that he won his first state in 30 years of running for president.

As the Democratic Party shifts further left, it not only becomes more out of sync with a majority of America, it becomes more out of sync with itself. So it is very possible that they want to deny Sanders the nomination. The escalation of the Democrats in-fighting sort of lends credence to that. Many traditional Democrats no longer see their worldview reflected in the New Left. Especially when you witness the perpetually angry and meanspirited leaders like Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, Tlaib Rashida, Ilhan Omar, Alex Acasio-Cortez, and innumerable others, many of whom just go along.

Many traditional Democrats are seeking someone competent who might share the worldview of Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy, or Sam Nunn. Such level-headed patriots are in short supply, leaving traditional Democrats lost. I'm not convinced that the traditional Democrats actually want Biden to represent their party either. However, when you take a close look at who their presidential candidates are, what real choice do they have? The Democratic Party is broken and seems like it has lost the ability to field a candidate that has even the remotest chance to win a Presidential election. The further left the Democratic Party strays the more it crumbles. As always, just my opinion.

RFK would have been the candidate practically unopposed, had he not been assassinated during the primaries. Hubert as incumbent VP was the logical standby.
