      What a coincidence!  I happen to be waiting for a letter from the DMV even as we speak.  You see, last year a few weeks before Thanksgiving, I went there and applied for the Real ID, but some type of glitch kept rejecting my paperwork.  After at least ten attempts by several clerks, two supervisors, and their computer technician, still no dice.  Lines were out the door, even for people with appointments, and they told me that after the holidays, things usually slow down around February.  They issued me a provisional Real ID and told me it would suffice.  Since that day months ago, I have have very little need to display my drivers license to anyone for anything, so I put it out of mind.

      Last week, I went back and re-applied, no problem whatsoever, and the ID itself should arrive in the mail within 14 days after I went there.  So in my case at least, I am looking forward to that letter from the DMV, lol.
