Depends on who you marry. It could be neither.
(Sorry guys, I got it right the first time)

It's only the death sentence if you kill her but your life sentence for marrying the wrong women is. This post was edited by CosmicWunderkind at March 14, 2020 9:31 AM MDT

My answer is no answer because I've never been married.

Well, one cannot argue with Don Barzini's answer.

    The bible comments (Proverbs 27:15)

A constant dripping on a day of steady rain And a contentious woman are alike

But having sufficient experience with both options mentioned in your question, It's more like torture for which a death sentence would be a welcome relief.

On the other hand it can be a glorious journey onward and upward to both personal and joint growth and happiness---a true life sentence.

On the same topic, I leave this one for your inspection, Tom. Proverbs 21:9

    Regards.

I actually read Proverbs many years ago.  At the time I answered, the first verse I remembered was the one about it being better to live on the comer of the roof than in the house with such a woman.

I don't have them memorized, so I googled the basic proverb and choose one of the five that came up in the search.

    I just checked 21/9---Yep that's the one.

  • Hasn't it been proven that married men live longer than single ones?
But, if you're married to the wrong person, you might feel like it's a death sentence. This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at March 14, 2020 8:52 AM MDT
