    My late mother-in-law was a 'secret' clown. She never revealed her clownishness until my wife showed me her clown costume after she had died.

    I am still puzzled by it. I remember I was with my wife once when we stopped to talk to the mother-in-law clown at a parade. I thought my spouse was just talking to some clown.
